If you want it to have color you could paint or dye it.

It’s smells awful, but I don’t want it to lose its color. Is it possible to do that?

Comment on The Caloosahatchee River: Its History and Future by Chuck /2015/02/01/caloosahatchee-future-bright/#comment-5458 Fri, 03 Aug 2018 17:04:09 +0000 /?p=667#comment-5458 Hopefully, the algae cleanup will help, but at best, it’s a short term and partial solution. Long term solutions were proposed years ago, but Florida politicians, especially Governor Scott, gutted them. As to what you can do, not much. I personally will vote against all Florida Republican candidates, as they tend to favor business, especially agriculture, over the environment.

This is reprehensible. Who do we write? How do we apply pressure as a public? Our beautiful canal directly behind the Club is disgusting with thick green algae that is now on the floor of our cantilever dock area when tide is high. This looks like a sewage dump.

It will be closed until it’s repaired. My guess is it will be closed for quite a while.

If your coral is a piece of soft coral, I would stay away from both the bleach and the dishwasher. Both will end up hurting it. Instead you’ll want to leave your coral under a shady spot outside where it can dry out. That way the algae will flake off once you rinse it in fresh water.

Now that its full of algae, I want to throw it in dishwasher…toobrittle to scrub off. Do you think d/washer would wkrk, or just stick to bleach? Hesitant about bleach, dont want to lose color. Thank you so much for your help, and all the help you give to others. I know it is very much appreciated 😉
